FOR FREEDOM!

读读国外一个论坛上写的,关于安全的事项。还是觉得gmail安全啊,呵呵。

这是psiphon的一个论坛。

SECURITY STICKY:

For those of you in blocked countries: DO NOT SHOW YOUR
PRIVATE EMAIL ADDRESS ON THE FORUM, Big Brother is watching.

For those in free countries: Don't
post your email address, the spambots are lurking...

set up a user account:

1) Choose a
user name that is completely neutral and has nothing to do with yuor real name,
the town you live in, or any other info that can be tracked back to you.

2) Make shure your email address is
NOT visible on the memberlist.

3)
It's all right to write which country you live in, but don't go into detail
about which town you are from, university you attend or similar.

##########################

Don't EVER give away information about
other persons to members of this forum. Some of the members might be Big
Brothers under cover!

Be very,
very careful if you give out information about yourself to other members of this
forum, some of the members might be Big Brother's little helper!

#########################

IP numbers:

Just like every phone on the phone network has a unique phone
number, every computer on the net has a unique IP number. This IP number is a
"fingerprint" that (almost always) sticks to the emails you send out, making
internet police able to locate the computer it was sent from.

Most email providers, e.g. hotmail and
yahoo, include these "fingerprints".

To my knowledge, gmail (www.gmail.com) is the only major
email provider that hides the IP numbers, making it very difficult for internet
police to track the origin of an email message.

Morale: Use gmail to stay safe.

When choosing an account name on gmail: Choose a user name
that is completely neutral and has nothing to do with your real name, the town
you live in, or any other info that can be tracked back to you.
